SARAJEVO, February 15 (FENA) - The FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić said today in Sarajevo that the fear of monopolizing public services by private capital has been a major obstacle to the development of public-private partnerships in BiH.
At the Economic Forum BiH 2018, which is being held today in Sarajevo, Novalić said that there have been a number of problems due to which the concept of public-private partnerships in BiH has not been implemented, although it is considered an efficient model for the merger of potentials in the public sector, these being mostly the resources and provision of public services, and a private sector that is efficient and has the capital.
“There is also a lack of confidence with the private sector when it comes to the public sector, especially in our case where the laws are often being amended or changed altogether, which does not create a stable environment,” said Novalić.
He added that the lack of legislation in this area is one of the reasons for the lagging, as well as the lack of project proposals that could be implemented through public-private partnerships, which the Government of FBiH has tried to overcome with the "100 Projects" program.
