Bulgarian armed units certified for EUFOR operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina

SOFIA, February 16 (FENA) - A national support element and a light maneuver company from 61st Mechanized Infantry Brigade in Karlovo, Central Bulgaria, have been certified for participation in the Intermediate Reserve Forces for Operation EUFOR Althea in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bulgarian Defense Ministry reported.

The units were approved after a combat readiness evaluation carried out by a commission from Bulgaria's Joint Forces Command.

The task of the national support element and the light maneuver company is to remain stationed in Bulgaria on standby for possible deployment in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The standby period will be from March 1 to August 31. The commander is Major Marin Tsalovski, BTA reports.
