SARAJEVO, February 22 (FENA) - Within the framework of activities aimed at improving corporate governance in companies with participation of state capital of the Federation of BiH, thematic workshops were organized with business associations, ministries and other stakeholders, such as NGOs, business associations and international institutions.
FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić visited a workshop to discuss innovation and technology development and emphasized that companies in which the Federation of BiH owns a third of the total capital of all companies in the FBiH and were, therefore, a very important factor in the development of the economy.
“These companies have to follow new technologies and be the driving force of the value chain and supply chain in an innovative way, in order to be put into the function of FBiH development,” said Mr. Novalić.
The FBiH Prime Minister also met with young entrepreneurs working within the innovation and entrepreneurial center Networks, which works on strengthening the start-up and the co-working community in BiH.
The workshops were an opportunity to summarize the results of activities undertaken by the FBiH Government since 2015 to improve the performance of the companies in which it owns the capital, as well as to present business plans and challenges of companies in the coming period.
It was emphasized that the business results have been significantly improved, especially in 2016, and that additional positive effects from 2017 are expected. Among other things, unlike 2015, when the total losses of these companies amounted to almost 150 million KM, in 2016 a positive result of over 50 million KM was recorded, stated the FBiH Government PR Office.
