BANJA LUKA, February 23 (FENA) - A member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Ivanić said today that it depends on the relations within the BiH Presidency when the agreement between BiH and the Islamic Community in BiH will be ratified, and that he is not optimistic that this will be done soon.
“If you ask me, if the agreement is identical to the one with the Serbian Orthodox Church, we can do it tomorrow, regardless of the political situation,” Ivanić said in a statement to journalists in Banja Luka.
But, given that it is a more detailed agreement in which there are numerous specificities that are not contained in other documents, it seeks a much better political climate than the present one, said Ivanić.
Commenting on the vote of SNSD deputies in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of BiH on the initiative regarding the constitutionality of Serbs in a number of cantons in the Federation of BiH, Ivanić said that there should be no political bickering on this issue, because Serbs are not constitutive people in those cantons.
“It is probably the biggest violation of human rights that exists in BiH and therefore there should be no debate about this issue,” Ivanić said.
