Mulalić: Iran is a country of extraordinary culture, art, history and religion

SARAJEVO, February 25 (FENA) - International conference on sustainable development and urban constructions gave an opportunity to assistant to the executive officer for heritage in Commission for Preservation of National Monuments Mirela Mulalić to present her research and cultural heritage of BiH, but also to visit landmarks of the Iranian city of Isfahan, where the conference was held.

Organizer of the conference, which was assessed as the most important annual gathering of scientists, researchers and professionals on sustainable development in Iran and beyond, was the DHEI institute, with support from Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and city administration of Isfahan and Road Department.

Conference that was held in Isfahan in Iran last year focused on six topics, whereas the special topic was “Sustainable Development of Historical Areas”, within which Mirela Mulalić’s work was accepted.

Mulalić told FENA that aim of her work named “According to Post-war Sustainable Rehabilitation: example of historical city of Jajce” is contribution to concept of sustainable rehabilitation of historical cities in post-war period on example of the city of Jajce.

“My work reviews conditions and different pressures of rehabilitation of the historical core of Jajce,” she explained, adding that in her work rehabilitation was displayed as a process that should contribute to improvement of the city based on principles of integrated rehabilitation of heritage and social cohesion.

Thanks to her participation in the conference, Mulalić also established significant contacts with colleagues from Isfahan and said she hopes they will manage to launch projects that hold importance for BiH and Sarajevo.

She said that apart from cultural-artistic and traditional energy, Isfahan also has the energy of a modern city with dense traffic, business and trade centers, hotels and other contents in modern buildings.

She emphasized she was particularly delighted by historical core of the city, which has unique cultural-artistic and esthetic values.

“On the other hand, bazaars in Isfahan offer crafts such as Persian carpets and fabrics, ceramic and metal items, jewelry and other products,” said Mulalić.

She concluded that Isfahan is a unique example of historical urban landscape and expressive uniqueness.

“Everyone should visit Isfahan to understand its beauty and values,” she emphasized.

Mulalić emphasized she was always drawn to Iran because of its extraordinary cultural heritage, tradition and customs.

She reminded this country is one of the cradles of global civilization. 

“I experienced Iran as a country with extraordinary culture, art, history and religion, where diversities are harmonized into a whole,” she said, adding that architecture and artworks are masterpieces that will leave everyone amazed.

Valuable historical monuments and cities, rich culture and art, friendly people and delicious cuisine are only some of the reasons why people should visit this country, Mulalić concluded in her interview with FENA.
