MOSTAR, Feb 28 (FENA) - On the occasion of the Independence Day of BiH, March 1, the students of the primary schools took part in a promenade along the streets of Mostar- the largest town in Herzegovina.
The students were met and addressed at the Spanish Square by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Rasid Hadzovic.
On the occasion, Minister Hadzovic pointed out that today the 26th anniversary was marked since the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina clearly and loudly said they wanted an independent, integral and democratic BiH.
Speaking about the importance of that date, Minister Hadzovic underlined that all those who had given their lives for the free BiH should be remembered.
- BiH is a state that we did not get so easily, there were victims for it. We all have to appreciate what was done in the last period for the state, especially in the war time. I want you to jointly build Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be prosperous, the state of all BiH citizens - the Minister said.
The observance of the Independence Day of BiH in Mostar continues today at 13:00 hrs with the event entitled "I have the homeland in my heart ", which will be held at the National Theater in Mostar, and for 18: 00, hrs, principles of elementary schools organized a public forum and observance at the Croatian Home “Herceg Stjepan Kosaca” .
