SARAJEVO, March 5 (FENA) - Italian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Nicola Minasi emphasized during his visit to the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and Coordination of the Fight against Corruption of BiH (APIK) that prevention and fight against corruption is a priority for Italy and he underlined the readiness of the National Anti-Corruption Agency (ANAC) to assist local authorities in the process of strengthening the rule of law, as well as in harmonizing the legal framework in the area of prevention of corruption with the European standards.
“In this regard, Italy, as the OSCE chair country, in cooperation with the OSCE Mission to BiH and APIK, is launching the project "Creating preconditions for effective coordination between legislative and executive anti-corruption bodies and teams in BiH" (Creating preconditions for effective coordination between legislative and executive anti-corruption bodies and teams in BiH).
As an additional confirmation of the importance that Italy attaches to the fight against corruption, we use this opportunity to remind that, in the context of part of Italy's chairmanship of the OSCE, Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano nominated a special anti-corruption representative, former Justice Minister Paola Severino, said Ambassador Minasi, stated the Embassy of Italy in BiH.
