SARAJEVO, March 6 (FENA) - Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland Myles Geiran visited today the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina (NULBiH) where he met with its Director Ismet Ovčina and his associates.
Director Ovčina expressed his welcome and briefed the guest about the history and the current situation in NULBiH.
The headquarters of the Embassy of the Republic of Ireland is in Ljubljana, but Ambassador Geiran has responsibility for Bosnia and Herzegovina as well.
The Ambassador said he regretted that in recent years BiH did not participate in the nomination for the prestigious International DUBLIN Literary Award and proposed to the NULBiH Director that in cooperation with libraries in BiH, he coordinates the nomination for 2019.
In a brief visit to the Periodicals Section, Ambassador Geiran said he was impressed by the collections of old periodicals and official publications.
