SARAJEVO, March 8 (FENA) – The final conference of the project “Parent's Corner” within ERASMUS + KA2 program will be held tomorrow in Sarajevo.

At this conference, representatives of the Sarajevo Primary School "Aleksa Šantić" and project partners will present all the activities carried out over the past three years as well as the results of the implementation of good practices.

The ERASMUS + KA2 program aims to improve the quality of teaching and learning from pre-school to secondary school education in schools across Europe. Within this program, schools are provided with opportunities for cooperation with partners in Europe and the development of professional skills of the teaching staff.

Primary School "Aleksa Šantić" applied in April 2015 with the project from the ERASMUS + KA2 program, entitled "Teacher Education - Strengthening the Partnership between School and Parents" - which was supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of the Sarajevo Canton.

In addition to the PS “Aleksa Šantić”, the project is also participated by the partners from Poland, Slovenia, Portugal, Turkey, Bulgaria and Great Britain.

Director of the PS "Aleksa Šantić" Muamer Tinjak told FENA that this school had the "Parent's Corner" since 2012 and that they had applied for the ERASMUS + KA2 project after cooperation with the educator from Slovenia regarding the exchange of good practices in education.

“It resulted in the right to participate in a project involving nine partners from seven countries. It is based on developing and strengthening the partnership between the family and the school, in fact, developing teacher competencies for cooperation with parents,” he said.

Mr. Tinjak said that this introduced new roles for parents, such as the role of educators, where the parent, in keeping with his or her profession, holds an appropriate lecture and in such a way brings closer the material the pupils study within the curriculum.

He stresses that "Aleksa Šantić" is the first school in BiH to become a participant of the ERASMUS + KA2 project and it has also organized education for representatives from 15 other schools, after which several of them have become involved in the exchange of good practices in education and applying for the same project.

It is planned that the gathering in Sarajevo, in addition to the hosts from PS “Aleksa Šantić”, is also attended by the representatives of the partner states (Poland, Slovenia, Portugal, Turkey, Bulgaria and Great Britain), who will present their activities and results of the implementation of good practices.
