Brkić meets with UN Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jenča

SARAJEVO, March 8 (FENA) - Deputy Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Josip Brkić met today with United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs Miroslav Jenča.

Mr. Brkić expressed satisfaction with the work of the UNDP Office in Sarajevo, as well as gratitude for everything that the UN has done in BiH in order to create and preserve sustainable peace.

He informed his collocutor about the internal political situation in BiH, with a special emphasis on amendments to the BiH Election Law and stressed the positive steps that BiH has done in the past year concerning European integration.

Assistant Secretary-General Jenča thanked for the welcome and informed Deputy Minister Brkić on preparations for the UN General Assembly debate in New York on April 24, with speeches on maintaining peace and partnership for conflict prevention and peacebuilding. In this regard, he confirmed that the debate will, on behalf of BiH, be attended by the BiH Presidency Chairman.

Assistant Secretary-General Jenča said that following the submission of responses to the European Commission's Questionnaire, work should be done on reforms in BiH, and in particular work on creating more jobs and everything that is needed in economic and political terms to make the country more attractive to young people.
