Zvizdić: Absurd and irrational statements of Milorad Dodik

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, March 11 (FENA) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić condemned a statement made by President of RS, Milorad Dodik, who yesterday once again referred to the entity of RS as a "state".

“President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik at yesterday's opening of a healthcare facility in East Sarajevo once again used for sending out negative and radical messages, which will benefit no one, especially not the citizens that he addressed. The absurd and irrational statements of Milorad Dodik in which he challenges the statehood of Bosnia and Herzegovina and misconstrues the true status of the entity of Republika Srpska by calling it a "state", are dangerous acts of invoking unconstitutional and unlawful acts,” Zvizdić stressed.

Dodik's attempt to start his election campaign for a member of the BiH Presidency by denying the statehood of Bosnia and Herzegovina has once again proven the hypocrisy of his own political stance and represents another in a series of pitiful attempts to maintain this delusion of the non-existent statehood status of the entity of RS.

“But, as German political theorist Hannah Arendt said, to paraphrase it, if someone dealing with a certain subject constantly engages in demagogy achieves some success, it is more likely that they will become the victim of their own fabrication.

That is why I remind Milorad Dodik that the Dayton Peace Agreement, for whose full implementation he zealously advocates for, has confirmed the continuity of the statehood of BiH and that Republika Srpska, as one of the two entities, will never have attributes of state. There is and there will be only one state on this territory and that is Bosnia and Herzegovina with its full sovereignty, territorial integrity and international legality,” added Zvizdić.

Zvizdić also noted that such and similar other provocative statements, even though released solely for daily politics purposes, are dangerous and detrimental to internal relations in BiH, because they push as backwards coming when the rest of the world expects BiH to continue moving forward.

“The state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and not some phantom para-states, has made a significant step forward in the past years on its European path, and this has been recognized by entire international community, but unfortunately not by some domestic politicians like Milorad Dodik who, in the absence of fresh ideas and programs, constantly turns to retrograde political rhetoric,” concluded Denis Zvizdić, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH.
