SARAJEVO, March 13 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mirko Šarović, after issuing an order to the relevant institutions that the conditions for export of fruits and vegetables to the Russian Federation be tightened, said he expected that talks with the Russian Federation could soon ensue.
He said the tightening of measures would enable clearer and more quality control and narrow down the room for fraudsters, as well as help the state and producers.
“There are two documents, one is a certificate of BiH origin, and another a phytosanitary certificate – Mr. Šarović told journalists in Sarajevo today. We have sanctioned some companies that are suspected of violating the rules of trade with the Russian Federation, so we believe that we have the conditions for talks,” Mr. Šarović said.
He stated that anyone who wants to export to the Russian Federation should identify whether they are a producer or an exporter. The exporter should also provide details about the producer.
“The producer should provide information on the amount of fruit or vegetables planted, the amount of yield, and proof of ownership,” Mr. Šarović said.
Regarding the BiH certificate, he added that the producer should deliver a card with the stock status at each delivery.
In addition, he stressed that the measures imply that the inspector is present during the certification and loading of products before transport, and not as previously has been the case, that the certificate is issued on the basis of a statement.
