SARAJEVO, March 16 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria Ekaterina Zakharieva stated that there were no open issues between the two countries, which is the basis for further strengthening of cooperation in accordance with mutual interest on a bilateral and international level.
Namely, Minister Crnadak met today, before the beginning of the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Western Balkans (WB6), with Minister Zakharieva, who is taking part in the WB6 meeting in Sarajevo, hosted by Minister Crnadak.
The interlocutors welcomed the cooperation established over the last two years and expressed their belief that it would continue in the upcoming period.
Mr. Crnadak informed the Bulgarian minister about the current internal political situation in BiH and the current activities of BiH on the foreign policy plan.
He expressed his gratitude for the support of the Republic of Bulgaria to the European path of BiH and that, during the current Presidency of the EU Council, priority was given to the European perspective and connectedness of the Western Balkans.
During the meeting, the collocutors emphasized that BiH, as well as other countries in the region, seeks to use the presidency of a friendly country in order to achieve the best results in the fight against corruption, organized crime and the establishment of the rule of law and functional institutions.
Mr. Crnadak also thanked Ms. Zakharieva for Bulgaria’s participation in the International Ministerial Conference on European Integration, which was held on February 23 in Banja Luka, the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
