TUZLA, March 21 (FENA) - The World Down Syndrome Day has been marked today in Tuzla. The Foundation of the Tuzla Community marked this day with the exhibition of photographs of children with this syndrome called "I am a messenger of spring, too".
A representative of the Foundation of the Tuzla Community Emina Žabić pointed out that the marking was attended by 21 children due to the symbolism of the date.
“We painted them in three seasons, autumn, winter and spring as a symbol of their existence throughout the year, and not just today, on the day of marking,” she stressed.
A representative of the Institute for Upbringing and Education of Persons with Disabilities in Mental and Physical Development, Vanesa Malkić, thanked the Foundation for its financial support to the project.
The day dedicated to children with Down Syndrome was also marked by the Association for Human Rights and Social Inclusion "Soci" in cooperation with the Cultural Center Tuzla. On this occasion, a documentary about a Tuzla boy with Down Syndrome was also presented. His mother, Hana Muminović, stressed that she saw this as a kind of support.
"To me as a parent, this is support, because there is someone thinking about him after all," Ms. Muminović said.
