SARAJEVO, March 22 (FENA) - The Social Democratic Party of BiH (SDP) stated that after SNSD and HDZ were the only parties that voted in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament against the law that introduces video surveillance and scanners at polling stations, as well as stricter voter control, and after they blocked the work of the House of Peoples only to prevent this Bill from being adopted, the rumors that SNSD and HDZ are getting ready for electoral fraud seem to be true.
“The panic that has engrossed these two parties due to the possibility that this Bill is adopted has taken incredible proportions. In doing so, they do stop at nothing in order to block the entire process. They are ready to go so far as to include the representatives of agencies and institutions involved to preserve the current situation for holding the elections, who by acting in accordance with the instructions of these parties, repay the debt towards those who appointed them, but at the same time risk being dismissed from work and put themselves in a situation where criminal charges can be filed against them for misuse of duty,” said the SDP in a press release.
The SDP welcomes the joint meeting of a large number of political parties determined to jointly prevent electoral fraud.
“We are glad that we have gathered around this idea the parties that are part of the government and the opposition, left and right, parliamentary and non-parliamentary, big and small. This all shows that the majority people in BiH want to tackle the wide-scale crime,” said the SDP and announced "a fierce battle against electoral fraud".
The SDP urges the international community to get involved, within its capacities and in accordance with the mandate that it has, in dealing with this problem with the intention to have fair elections that would be decided by the voters and not by those who count the votes, stated the SDP BiH.
