Funds for electrification and infrastructure projects in returnee communities

SARAJEVO, March 26 (FENA) - The Commission for Refugees and Displaced Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at today's session carried out a selection of infrastructural and electrification projects for housing units in the areas inhabited by displaced persons and returnees in the total value of 2,795,023 KM.

The Commission has thus ensured almost two million (precisely 1,956,516 KM) for 64 projects for the construction and reconstruction of the communal and social infrastructure of returnees and displaced persons.

The majority of projects will be implemented in Bijeljina, Derventa, Istočna Ilidža, Lopare, Kotor Varoš, Tuzla, Konjic, Gradačac, and Kakanj.

When it comes to electrification of returnee communities, the Commission for Refugees and Displaced Persons in BiH has secured 838.507 KM to finance 19 projects in Rogatica, Foča, Novo Goražde, Višegrad, Pale, Han Pijesak, Zvornik, Brod, Derventa, Mostar and Pelagićevo.

Representatives of UNHCR, OSCE, OHR, CRS, HWA, the Union for Sustainable Return and Integration in BiH and the Alliance for the return of refugees and displaced persons of Bosanska Posavina were also present at today's session of the Commission for Refugees and Displaced Persons in BiH, stated the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH.
