SARAJEVO, March 26 (FENA) - Working on the development and improvement of vocational education and technical knowledge in BiH, the German Society for International Cooperation GIZ launched the program "My Knowledge - Your Future Profession?" during which female students of the final year of primary schools will be given support in their professional orientation through the exchange of experiences with female students attending the "Hasib Hadžović" Technical School in Goražde.
The mentors attending the classes for the vocation of machine technician for computer control of machines (CNC technician) in this school will during five months continuously teach the younger girls about the advantages of selecting technical vocational professions.
"It is a unique program aimed at including more girls in technical professions whose competences will be able to respond to the needs of the labor market," said this school’s director.
A third-year student at Hasib Hadžović Secondary Technical School in Goražde, who is studying to be the Mechanical Technician for CNC - CNC Programmer, Lamija Kahvedžić, says that she did not think twice when she volunteered to be a mentor since she understands the importance of counseling among peers, information provision and help with choosing a secondary school.
After the application of the mentors and participants by filling the application form, regular meetings and discussions will be held in which students of primary and secondary schools will participate in collaborative work and active exchange of experiences.
The results of the program will be presented at a group meeting in Sarajevo, where the selection of the best story/mentoring report will be organized, as well as awarding of winners and a number of other specially organized activities for the participants of the project.
Within the project "Vocational Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina", the "My Knowledge - Your Future Profession?" program was created, GIZ stated.
