ZENICA, April 5 (FENA) - Thanks to the joint investment of funds from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the City of Zenica, the works on rehabilitation of the landslide in the Zenica suburb of Vardište have been completed, and the project also included reconstruction of a part of the local road.
The rehabilitation of this landslide cost 300,000 KM. The landslide was directly endangering 12 homes and auxiliary facilities in Vardište.
Zenica Assistant Mayor for Utility Services Sabira Helvida said that the city administration and UNDP invested 150,000 KM each for these purposes.
“This is just one of the numerous problems the citizens of Zenica face, which we are trying to solve in the shortest possible period. The Vardište suburb is almost in the city center, and it had a really huge problem and I am happy that this job has been successfully completed.
We will try to make it easier for the local population and in the second phase provide faster access to the Zenica - Vitez regional road, because this is also one of the problems of this suburb,” said Zenica Mayor Fuad Kasumović.
