SARAJEVO, April 11 (FENA) - The Presidency of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) discussed at yesterday's session the current political situation in BiH, the principles for amending the Election Law, the joint election platform in the RS entity and holding of the SDA convention.

SDA president and BiH Presidency Chairman Bakir Izetbegović said at the press conference that seven conclusions were adopted at the session, including that SDA supports the achievement of a united stand and establishment of the principles for amending the Election Law of BiH, which were agreed upon by SDA, DF, SBB and SDP.

“We urge the HDZ BiH to come to an agreement as soon as possible to implement the decision of the BiH Constitutional Court on established principles that are based on binding provisions of the Constitution of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina that implement the decision of the Constitutional Court,” Mr. Izetbegović said.

The SDA presidency supported the appointment of Adem Zolj to the position of Prime Minister of the Canton Sarajevo and urges him to accelerate projects to address the problems of SC citizens, especially the problems of drinking water supply and public transport and traffic.

They also supported the conclusions of yesterday's meeting of the BiH Presidency Chairman with the representatives of the executive and legislative authorities, as well as representatives of the religious and academic community, with an opinion that such meetings are needed in the existing economic circumstances and need to be held in continuity.

The SDA presidency also welcomes the harmonized principles and the agreement on the joint election platform of the SDA with other pro-BiH parties in the RS entity, with the conviction that this coalition will achieve an electoral outcome that will ensure the significant political influence of Bosniaks and Croats in the RS entity.

The SDA presidency considers unacceptable the banning of hijabs in the education system of the RS, under the disguise of the adoption of a new dress code, and they find the unilateral synchronization of the school curriculum of the RS entity with the curriculum of the Republic of Serbia also unacceptable and contrary to the State Strategy.

The SDA presidency adopted at yesterday’s session a plan for preparing and conducting an election campaign, assessing that the current activities are being implemented successfully.

They also agreed that the SDA convention would be held on May 26th, the day of the establishment of SDA. On this date, an electoral platform will be announced, as well as the SDA’s candidate for the Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency in the upcoming general elections. Adil Osmanović and Halid Genjac gave up the candidacy.
