SARAJEVO, April 11 (FENA) - The Association of Women of the Party of Democratic Action of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been officially admitted to the membership of the EPP Women Association and is proud to have become a member of this powerful organization within the European Union, told FENA the President of the Association of Women of SDA BiH Senija Bubić.
The application for membership in EPP Women was submitted by the Presidency of the Women’s Association of SDA BiH, in order to take the place that belongs to them in this great European family.
“The Association of Women of SDA BiH has been functioning for 10 years now and we have not been a member of the EPP Women organization. We submitted a candidacy and the documentation, our work reports for the last three years from the Convention to date and we have officially become members on Monday, April 9,” said Bubić.
She emphasized that EPP Women is a significant organization within the EU and is of great importance for the progress of BiH towards the EU.
BUbić added that the Association of Women of SDA BiH also took the opportunity to contact other women's organizations within the EU and has received several offers to work with these organizations, thus doing something for their country and lobbying for the position of women in BiH.
A session of the EPP Women General Committee was held in Brussels on April 9, at which the Association of Women of SDA BiH was admitted to the full membership.
