FMCG Summit in Sarajevo gathers over 500 participants

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, April 13 (FENA) - Over 500 participants, prominent manufacturers, traders, distributors, eminent domestic and foreign retail and marketing experts, guests and journalists attended the 4th FMCG Summit in Sarajevo.

They spoke about the current state of the consumer goods industry, about new perspectives, innovations and solutions that offer better sales results, as well as about development potentials that can spur stronger growth and optimize business costs. What is the future of retail, what are the new customer needs, why do we need to pay more attention to the value of the brand, of the promotion, how to improve process optimization and digitization… were just some of the topics of the FMCG Summit.

"We can hardly thrive without investing in knowledge and the FMCG Summit is the best place to get that knowledge. That is why the success of this event depends solely on you, that is, from the new knowledge we have adopted but also shared. I have to say that I am extremely proud of this event, which is held throughout the region and whose concept originated in Sarajevo,” said Editor-in-Chief of InStore magazine Rešid Muratović.

Keynote speaker Jean-Jacques Vandenheede, a senior retail analyst at AC Nielsen Europe from Belgium, opened the program part of the conference and spoke on the topic "Great Change is Coming - Sales One on One". He stated the benefits of retail digitalization and the fact that many food stores in the United States closed in 2017 and that small manufacturers have increasingly more options to reach customers directly.

“Our relations with Russia are very good, but unfortunately our trade balance is covered with only 25 percent. So, we have to do something urgently on this issue, and this is the first step to that. I would like to thank Ivan Janišin and the Embassy of Russia for having responded to the invitation of the organizers and therefore supported this initiative,” Mustafa Mujezinović, the BiH Ambassador to Russia, said.

The focus of the discussion was on the challenges of doing business in BiH, the expansion to the foreign markets, the best international practices, and in which direction the FMCG in BiH should be developing, where we are now and how to proceed, in order to make use of all the changes discussed in the FMCG Summit..., the organizers said.
