SARAJEVO, April 16 (FENA) - The Social Democratic Party of BiH has asked Denis Zvizdić, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, not allow the adoption of the proposed amendments to the Law on the Execution of Criminal Sanctions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, proposed d by Josip Grubeša, Minister of Justice of BiH.
As the SDP explained, the proposed changes are aimed at introducing the position of manager and two deputy manager in the state prison, instead of the current regulation, according to which the prison has only one administrator.
“By introducing such legislative changes, the parliamentary majority, once more has shown that they are only interested in the accumulation of executive posts for their political party members, and that they are interested in continuous division of everything in BiH along ethnic lines, because it is proposed that members from different ethnic groups or constitutive peoples should be appointed to these three positions.
Instead of imposition and yet another example of pushing for proportional ethnic representation, even in the governance structures of the state prison, it would be better for them to explain to the public why this facility, whose construction cost 80 million KM, is still not in operation, although they themselves announced the opening more than six months ago,” said the SDP BiH.
