SARAJEVO, April 16 (FENA) - Labor market reform is one of the priorities of the FBiH Government, FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić said today in Sarajevo at the beginning of the "Contemporary Labor Market Challenges" conference organized by the FBiH Employment Service.

Mr. Novalić reminded that at the beginning of their mandate they embarked on the drafting of the new Labor Law, adding that this is certainly the greatest and deepest reform in this area in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“While there was much unnecessary political games and misunderstandings during the adoption of this law, we were able to provide greater security for workers and greater freedom for employers,” Mr. Novalić said.

He added that after that, they had started building a better business environment, pointing out that in BiH nothing is easy, including this type of reform.

"We have still done plenty, and the numbers show it. New jobs are opening daily and their number is on a steady rise. Since the beginning of my mandate to date, we managed to create 38,135 jobs and all these jobs were created in the real sector. The largest number of them are in small businesses, but great investments are present as well,” Mr. Novalić said.

One of the goals of the "Contemporary Labor Market Challenges" conference is to examine through open dialogue the need for implementation of programs and projects of professional training and specialization of unemployed people for their faster integration into the labor market according to employer needs and the impact of new technologies on the labor market.
