Peaceful protest of veterans in front of the FBiH Parliament building

SARAJEVO, April 17 (FENA) - Several dozens of demobilized veterans have gathered in a peaceful protest in front of the building where the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo is located.

They hold a large poster with the word "Register” on it, referring to this veteran category’s request to the governing structures for the establishment of a unique register of veterans.

One of the demands of this category is also the introduction of monthly cash benefits for those demobilized veterans for whom no rights have not been legally prescribed by the current laws although they were members of defense units during the recent war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They expect that the FBiH Parliament, in which several sessions have been announced for today and the next two days, puts the veterans’ issue on the agenda.

A second, extraordinary session with a large agenda has been announced, but no items concern the veterans.

In the FBiH Parliament building and on the plateau in front of it, there was a noticeable increase in police presence this morning.
