SARAJEVO, April 18 (FENA) – A conference of the General Inspectorate of the BiH Ministry of Defense and inspectors in the commands and units of BiH AF, attended by the highest officials of BiH MoD and BiH AF and BiH legislative and executive officials, as well as representatives of international forces and organizations in BiH, was held today at the BiH AF House in Sarajevo.
At the opening of the conference, the attendees were addressed by the BiH Minister of Defense Marina Pendeš, the Chairman of the Joint Defense and Security Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sifet Podžić, Parliamentary Military Commissioner Boško Šiljegović, NATO Sarajevo Commander Brigadier General Robert A. Huston, EUFOR Commander Major General Martin Dorfer, Chief of BiH AF Joint Staff Major General Senad Mašović, as well as Brigadier General Mirsad Ahmić, who at the very beginning of the conference submitted a report on the work of the General Inspectorate of BiH MoD and inspectors in BiH AF for 2017.
Defense Minister Marina Pendeš pointed out that the Ministry of Defense sought to improve its attitude towards professional behavior, respect for law and transparency of the process, stating that these are "lasting values that make the Ministry and the Armed Forces well-organized, efficient and recognizable."
She also emphasized the importance of cooperation with BiH institutions and agencies, as well as with NATO, EUFOR and OSCE, in order to strengthen efforts in building integrity, prevention and fight against corruption.
Inspectors of the BiH MoD General Inspectorate and the inspectors from the BiH AF units and commands submitted reports on activities, after which they continued with their duties within the scope of work of the inspectors in order to continue the better and more successful work of the General Inspectorate in the forthcoming period, the BiH MoD PR Office said.
