SARAJEVO, April 19 (FENA) - Directors of entity geodetic and property affairs administrations Željko Obradović and Bosiljka Predragović, on the premises of the Norwegian Mapping and Cadastre Authority in Oslo yesterday signed an Agreement on Institutional Cooperation in the Implementation of a Donor Project funded by the Government of the Kingdom of Norway. On behalf of the implementation partner Statens Kartverk - Norway Mapping and Cadastre Authority, the Agreement was signed by the Director of International Cooperation Department Helge Onsrud.
The new donor project is a continuation of the support of the Government of Norway, which has been assisting Western Balkan countries in the preparation and collection of spatial/geographic information through this authority for many years, as well as in establishing services to ensure access to this information.
The previously successful project in Bosnia and Herzegovina - "Real Estate and European Integration Services", strengthened the capacities in the FBiH Geodetic and Real Property Affairs Administration (FGRPAA) and RS Geodetic and Property Affairs Administration (RSGPAA).
In response to requests for continued support, Statens Kartverk at the end of 2017 presented the project proposal to the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was subsequently approved. For the implementation of the project with the beneficiary partner institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a grant in the total amount of six million Norwegian crowns was awarded.
The period of implementation of the new donor project is from April 2018 to the end of October 2020. The general goal is to introduce a digital archive system into the local offices of RSGPAA and several local government units in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the acquisition of the necessary hardware and software, as well as the improvement of entity GNSS permanent stations networks, increase of the number of reference stations and other system improvements, the FBiH Government PR Office stated.
