SARAJEVO, April 19 (BiH) - BiH Presidency member Dragan Čović met today in Sarajevo with the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to BiH Ivan Del Vechio with whom he discussed the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, bilateral relations between the two countries and the position of Croats as one of the three constituent people, especially within the institutional structures of BiH.
They jointly concluded that the implementation of mechanisms of legitimate representation at all administrative and political levels was required for the implementation of institutional equality, in accordance with the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of BiH.
This is the only way for BiH to stabilize its constitutional and legal system and internal relations and to ensure the elementary prerequisites for the rule of law, which is also a key precondition for membership in the European Union.
They assessed that relations between the two countries were friendly, but that there is much room for their improvement to mutual benefit, the BiH Presidency stated.
