OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Harlem Désir visits BiH CRA

SARAJEVO, April 19 (FENA) - Representative of the OSCE on Freedom of the Media Harlem Désir visited the BiH Communications Regulatory Agency, where he met with Helena Mandić, Assistant Director for Broadcasting.

They discussed the most important achievements of the Agency over the past period, as well as the challenges the Agency faces in implementing regulatory standards and mechanisms that protect the freedom of speech.

Mr. Désir expressed his satisfaction that Bosnia and Herzegovina has a state institution that applies the most advanced standards in media regulation and his support to the Agency's efforts to preserve its financial and political independence.

Ms. Mandić expressed satisfaction with the visit of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media and stressed the need for further cooperation between the two institutions.

On behalf of the General Director of the Agency, she expressed gratitude for the wide-ranging support provided by the Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media in preserving the freedom of the media in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the CRA stated.
