SREBRENICA, April 20 (FENA) - Students from region of former Yugoslavia, participants of the international conference "The Prosecution of Genocide in BiH", visited crime sites around Srebrenica and Potočari Memorial Center yesterday.
Students from Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and BiH had an opportunity to listen to a history lesson on Srebrenica genocide.
Mark Harman, former ICTY prosecutor, visited Memorial Center Potočari with students and mothers of Srebrenica.
"I am here to honor the victims of genocide in Srebrenica. Genocide cannot be denied, genocide must be recognized so it does not happen again in the future, otherwise there will be no progress for mankind," said Harman.
President of the Association "Mothers of Srebrenica and Žepa enclaves" Munira Subašić said it is very important that young people came to share the truth and hear about everything that took place in this area from important people who issued the verdicts.
International conference "The Prosecution of Genocide in BiH" was organized by the Association of victims and witnesses of genocide in cooperation with the "Mother of the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves, with the participation of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Courts (MICT), the legal successor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).
Conference gathered a large number of law students from the region of the former Yugoslavia with the aim for the students, together with direct participants in the Hague trials, to learn about the vast amount evidence and arguments in order to face the truth about genocide in BiH.
