BRUSSELS/SARAJEVO, April 26 (FENA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina has made a significant step forward in the registration of military assets and the fulfillment of the conditions for the activation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Membership Action Plan, the United States Permanent Representative to NATO Kay Bailey Hutchison said.

In a telephone press conference organized for numerous journalists in the world, including the FBiH News Agency (FENA), she still could not answer the question from BiH about whether the MAP will be activated at the upcoming NATO summit this summer, but noted that debates on what will be the next steps regarding BiH were currently in progress.

She commended the efforts made by BiH authorities in this regard and said that this would be acknowledged, adding that BiH is on the right track, at the same time expressing the hope that BiH will become a full member of this alliance.

“They have done a lot to achieve this goal, although there is still more to be done. I think that this has been acknowledged and we hope that we will keep the very strong ties we have with BiH and we will all continue to work in that direction,” Ms. Hutchison said.
