SARAJEVO, April 26 (FENA) - BiH Presidency Chairman Bakir Izetbegović and members of the BiH Presidency Mladen Ivanić and Dragan Čović received the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, who is visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina for the 9th International Investment Conference, the Sarajevo Business Forum.
Speaking about the bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Slovenia, they pointed out that they were traditionally good, that economic relations are well-developed and that trade has been increased and largely balanced in the past several years.
The collocutors emphasized commitment to promote good neighborly relations, as well as regional cooperation on European perspectives, security and migration within the current initiatives, processes and forums, especially the Brdo-Brioni process, the BiH Presidency stated.
They expressed pleasure with the intensity of visits at a high level, as well as the development of political dialogue between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Slovenia.
Members of the BiH Presidency informed President Pahor about the current political situation in the country, with a special emphasis on activities on amendments to the Election Law of BiH.
They expressed gratitude to the Republic of Slovenia in support of the European integration process of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They placed emphasis on the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the fulfillment of the necessary conditions for obtaining candidate status, and then full membership in the European Union, which is a priority when it comes to the country's foreign policy.
In this context, they welcomed the open possibility of membership in the European Union, which was clearly defined in the published strategy "A credible enlargement perspective for and enhanced European Union engagement with the Western Balkans".
