NEUM, April 29 (FENA) - Neum is ready to welcome the summer season, and the final preparations are ongoing that include preparing the beaches, promenades and the accommodation capacities.
Tourism operators expect that this season will even be more successful than the last one, which went on with remarkable results.
Mayor of the Municipality of Neum Živko Matuško said in an interview with FENA that the activities in the municipality that he leads are considerably greater than in previous years.
"We are delighted with this and of we hope that our guests and tourists will be satisfied as well," Matuško said.
He stressed that Neum has managed to extend the season and the pre season, thanks to the engagement of tourism workers.
“With the arrival of a larger number of guests in Neum, our obligations are increasing. Everyone knows what their duties are in the preparation of the tourism season, but the municipality is the main carrier of all the projectsm,” said Matuško and added that this year the municipality has launched a number of significant projects.
He singled out the beginning of the construction of the Neum - Stolac road.
"We have waited for this project for a long time and we are looking forward to it," Matuško emphasized.
He added that the hotels are already booked and that the most numerous guests, in addition to domestic ones, are those from Austria, Germany, France, Korea and other countries.
He praised the cooperation of the municipality with all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the cantonal, the FBiH and the state level.
Neum is the only Bosnian town on the Adriatic Sea. It has long and hot summers and short and mild winters, and it is one of the seaside resorts with the largest number of sunny days.
