SARAJEVO, April 29 (FENA) - Former Commander of the 5th Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, General Atif Dudakovic and 12 members of the corps who were arrested on Friday were released from custody earlier today, confirmed to FENA Dudaković's attorney, Asim Crnalić.
The BiH Prosecutor’s Office requested custody for those arrested in a police operation conducted in several cities in BiH, but this request was today rejected by the Court of BiH.
The Prosecutor’s Office requested custody, stating the potential threat to the ongoing investigation if the suspects were to stay at liberty along with potential concealing of evidence.
According to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, the arrested persons are suspected of war crimes against civilian population.
