SARAJEVO, May 6 (FENA) - There are numerous examples of the revival of fascism in the world, and the region, but also in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and precisely such fascist ideas infiltrate into all segments of society, warned today members of the Social Democratic Party of BiH(SDP) at the latest session of the Association of Independent Intellectuals - Circle 99.
The topic of the session was "Fascism, the biggest threat to BiH - On the occasion of the Victory Day and Europe Day". The keynote speaker was the president of the SDP's Board for Affirmation and Protection of the Values of the Anti-Fascist Struggle of the Peoples and Nationalities of BiH, Muzafer Šehović, who said that there has been no shorter sentence recently that proclaims a greater truth, because fascism today is considered the greatest threat to the world, the region, and especially Bosnia and Herzegovina.
For this reason, he emphasized the obligation and responsibility of all positive and good-hearted people and anti-fascists to fight decisively and bravely against fascism, nationalism and chauvinism. SDP Vice President Lana Prlić said it is devastating and shattering to be in a situation to talk about the emerging forms of fascism in the world in the 21st century.
“However, it is precisely fascism that shifts the focus from all those vital and important topics and crawls into all the institutions, as we see it in the example of 'two schools under one roof'. I say that as a young person that this is ultimate embarrassment of modern age,” underlined Prlić.
For all these reasons, as it was concluded today, it is of utmost importance to speak of the fact that fascism has been defeated in Europe and that these are our foundations for the future.
