BiH Court - Milorad Radaković and Goran Pejić acquitted of all charges

SARAJEVO, May 15 (FENA) - The Panel of Section I for War Crimes at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the criminal case versus the accused Milorad Radaković and Goran Pejić, having held a public trial, handed down a judgment acquitting the accused Milorad Radaković and Goran Pejić of the charges that they committed the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172(1)h) as read with Subparagraph a), all in conjunction with Article 29 and Article 180(1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The accused Milorad Radaković and Goran Pejić are acquitted of the charges that during a widespread and systematic attack launched by the military, police and paramilitary formations of the Serb Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, subsequently Republika Srpska, they committed persecution of the Bosniak and Croat civilian population on political, national, ethnic and religious grounds in the territory of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the municipality of Prijedor and the village of Tukovi as an integral part of the above territory, in the manner that on 13 June 1992 the accused Milorad Radaković a.k.a. Srbo and Goran Pejić killed 5 members of the Ećimović family.

Pursuant to Article 189(1) of the CPC BiH, the accused are relieved of the obligation to reimburse the costs of criminal proceedings and court’s scheduled amount, which will be paid fully from within Court’s budget appropriations.

Pursuant to Article 198(3) of the CPC BiH, the injured parties are advised to pursue their possible property claims in a civil action, the BiH Court stated.
