First Youth Biennial of Graphic Arts opens in Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, May 15 (FENA) - The first Youth Biennial of Graphic Arts of BiH, where students from the academies of fine arts from Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Široki Brijeg and Trebinje presented themselves, was opened tonight at the BiH Cultural Center (BCC) in Sarajevo.

The BCC Gallery exhibited 40 works of final year students of the academies, and the winner of the Grand Prix of the first Biennial is young graphic artist Nikola Kašterović from Banja Luka.

President of the organizing committee and a jury member of the Biennial, professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo Danis Fejzić, stressed the importance of the BiH graphic arts scene, gathering artists such as Dževad Hozo, Halil Tikveša, Mersad Berber, Emir Dragulj, Virgilije Nevjestić...

The Youth Biennial of Graphic Arts has a competitive character and the winner of the first Biennale, Nikola Kašterović, received the Grand Prix award (the charter and the trophy "Tvrtkov pečat" (Tvrtko’s seal), the work of the artist Samir Sučeska).

Special awards were given to distinguished artists as well.

The Youth Biennial of Graphic Arts will be held in the BCC Gallery until May 25th.
