SARAJEVO, May 21(FENA) - Minister of Security of BiH Dragan Mektić met today with Head of Rule of Law Section at the Office of Special Representative of the EU to BiH (EUSR) Richard Wood and discussed current situation regarding migrants in BiH.
Mektić informed Wood about activities that have been implemented in preventing illegal border crossings, sending additional police officers from SIPA and Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH as assistance to the BiH Border Police.
He emphasized those measures resulted in reduced number of illegal migrants in BiH.
Mektić emphasized this is a problem that needs to be solved regionally and on level of the European Union (EU).
Representatives of EUSR welcomed efforts Minister Mektić puts in securing humane solutions for this problem, including the latest example of placing the migrants in center in Salakovac, Ministry of Security of BiH stated.
