SARAJEVO, May 22 (FENA) - FBiH Minister for Issues of Veterans and Disabled Veterans of the Defensive-Liberation War, Salko Bukvarević, met today with a delegation from Istanbul with whom he discussed the project of "Veterans’ Cooperatives Fair", which will be held in Sarajevo at the end of August 2018.
Istanbul's delegation included Adviser to the Mayor, İsmail Hakkı Turunç and Foreign Affairs Director Fahri Murat Tuncay, Foreign Affairs Director of the Turkish Association of Cities Gulfem Kiraç Keles, and the expert adviser at the Association of Cities of the Republic of Turkey, Oguzhan Gursoy.
The meeting was also attended by the representatives and president of the Veterans’ Cooperative Association of the Federation of BiH, Arif Fazlić, and President of the ARBiH Coordinating Association Šerif Patković.
Arif Fazlić informed the guests about the goals of the veteran cooperatives, which include the employment of hardly employable categories and their rehabilitation. There are currently 85 registered veterans’ cooperatives and 350 subcontractors throughout the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Šerif Patković presented the project of the Veterans’ Cooperatives Fair that will be held on August 24 and 25 in Skenderija and said that 60 exhibitors from BiH were expected, but that they also expect exhibitors from the Republic of Turkey.
Advisor to the Mayor İsmail Hakkı Turunç, on behalf of the Mayor and the City of Istanbul, expressed full support to the development of the veterans’ cooperatives and promised concrete assistance in the education and further training of members of veterans’ cooperatives from BiH through the Directorate for Education in Turkey. He expressed readiness to assist in the realization of the fair and announced the participation of at least seven Turkish companies.
Minister Bukvarević thanked the people of the Republic of Turkey, their President and the delegation of the City of Istanbul for their unselfish support to all citizens of BiH, and invited all attendees to the upcoming fair, with the sincere wish that this type of cooperation will continue in the future, the FBiH Ministry for Issues of Veterans and Disabled Veterans of the Defensive-Liberation War stated.
