Dodik persists in futile attempts to undermine identity and sovereignty of BiH

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, May 31 (FENA) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić believes that the last statement by Milorad Dodik that "Republika Srpska and Serbia, during this century or in the next several decades, should be united into one state", is a continuation of Dodik's political fanaticism and utopian repetition of the hegemonistic mantra of his mentors about the creation of "Great Serbia" in some near future.

“Dodik, as a Bosnian Serb, in an already recognizable auto-destructive mode, although unsuccessfully, is still persistent in his challenging of the identity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its recognizable, centuries-old multiculturalism, its historical uniqueness  and international legal status.

Everyone except Dodik, and a few of his hired loud-mouth nationalists know that RS, as a Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity, will never merge with Serbia in a "single state", and that Drina, a beautiful river that it is, but unfortunately, also the largest mass grave of murdered Bosniaks, will forever remain a border between the sovereign and unified BiH and the Serbian state,” said Zvizdić in his statement.

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH therefore has called on Dodik and all those who "dream of changing the borders and new divisions to stop and wake up from the dream" to understand and accept the reality that the architecture of the Western Balkans has been completed “so that all of us can devote ourselves to real needs of the BiH citizens: EU integration, internal cohesion, peace and stability, economic development, new employment, strengthening of regional cooperation.

Zvizdić stated that there is only one way to connect the Western Balkans and “erase the borders", and that is for BiH, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, etc., to become full EU members.

Because of all stated above, Zvizdić expects from the highest-ranking Serbian officials to unequivocally condemn such Dodik's rhetoric and harsh and blatant attacks on territorial integrity and sovereignty of BiH, “and at the same time, also putting Serbia in a very uncomfortable position just to serve the purpose of his election campaign."

“Therefore, an adequate response from Serbia, in line with contemporary standards of international legal order, would be the only concrete proof of mutual respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty, but also a clear indicator of the degree of sincerity in further building of good neighborly relations based on trust and reconciliation,” stated the office of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić.
