SARAJEVO, June 4 (FENA) - The State Commission for Cooperation of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) today in Sarajevo marked the 25th anniversary of BiH's membership in this organization of the United Nations.
Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH Adil Osmanović and Head of the UNESCO’s Sarajevo Office, Siniša Šešum stressed the good cooperation of this ministry with UNESCO in the period of more than two decades during which numerous significant projects have been implemented.
The two officials emphasized that each individual item of the BiH heritage in the UNESCO World Heritage List has immense importance for the preservation and promotion of a rich cultural and historical heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As part of the marking of this important anniversary, the minister awarded the certificates of the entry of the Sarajevo Haggadah and the Manuscripts Collection of the Gazi Husrev-bey's Library to the UNESCO Memory of the World Register.
Also, a certificate has been awarded for the entry of Konjic woodcarving to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
