Djapo: Plastic waste not only a problem in BiH, but in the world

SARAJEVO, June 6 (FENA) - Minister of Environment and Tourism of FBiH Edita Djapo attended a presentation of a generation project "Clean Miljacka River", on the occasion of the World Environment Day.

Minister Djapo emphasized that plastic pollution is present both on the ground and in waters.

"World Environment Day has been marked since 1972 and various activities are being implemented today, such as collection of plastic and other similar events. Topic of this-year's World Environment Day is 'No plastic pollution, Stop to Plastic'," added Djapo.

She said that plastic materials have become a great threat to survival of Planet Earth and therefore plastic waste is not only problem in BiH, but it is a global problem," said Minister Djapo.

Minister of FBiH emphasized that BiH has beautiful rivers, the greatest treasure, because there is an increasing problem of lack of water in the world.

"God gave us a beautiful country, with the most beautiful rivers and we must protect them not only for us and our children, but also for the generations to come," said Djapo, PR Office of FBiH Government stated.
