Crnadak: Most important is that CEI continues strengthening regional cooperation

SPLIT/SARAJEVO, June 12 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Igor Crnadak was invited to participate in Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Central European Initiative (CEI) in Split yesterday by Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia Marija Pejčinović-Burić.

Gathering "Central European Initiative: Perspectives of Tomorrow" was held within the Croatia's chairmanship of CEI, and the main topics of the meeting included further cooperation in the region, perspectives of the Central European Initiative in the future, stability and economic progress.

It was an opportunity for participants of the meeting to exchange experience regarding the European integration of the Western Balkans, current challenges Central Europe is dealing with, migrant crisis, human rights issues and counter terrorism.

During his address Minister Crnadak emphasized that most important for BiH is for CEI to continue strengthening regional cooperation, with special emphasis on economy, development of entrepreneurship and even better infrastructural connectivity. As the second priority Crnadak said BiH expects CEI to continue being a platform which will support efforts of BiH and the Western Balkans to become EU members as soon as possible.

Apart from Crnadak, the meeting was attended by the First Vice President of Government and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Srđan Darmanović, and newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Italy Enzo Moavero Mianesi, PR Office of BiH MFA stated.
