TUZLA, June 19 (FENA) - Doctors of medicine and dental medicine in health institutions of Tuzla Canton will start submitting individual resignations today, to express their dissatisfaction with their status and with status of public healthcare, but firstly with the fact that government does not recognize them as a social partner, president of the Strike Committee of the Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dental Medicine of TC stated.
They sincerely hope that cantonal government and the assembly will react and hold an extraordinary session devoted only to this topic.
President of the Strike Committee Admir Suljić emphasized their basic demand is to be social partners and to sign collective contracts for doctors of medicine and dental medicine, like it was done in eight other cantons.
It was stated that 1.030 doctors of medicine and dental medicine out of total of 1.119 employees in TC have been forced to start submitting individual resignations.
"Choice is simple. Either to be appreciated as doctors and represent ourselves or a collapse of the healthcare system in TC. We hope common sense will prevail and that TC Assembly will schedule an extraordinary session," he said.
