SARAJEVO, June 20 (FENA) - On the occasion of marking June 20 - World Refugee Day, the Ombudsman Institution of Bosnia and Herzegovina pointed out that by ratifying international documents Bosnia and Herzegovina undertook the obligation to ensure the realization and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
The Ombudspersons of Bosnia and Herzegovina are aware of the importance of the issue of refugees. In this sense, in accordance with their mandate, they act and work, both on individual complaints and in the manner prescribed by the Law on Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Certainly this issue should be, and is, in the focus of the work of the Institution of Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially taking into account the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding migration.
The Ombudspersons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, aware of these issues, started drafting the Special Report on the Status of Migration in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the belief that this document will contribute to finding effective solutions, stated the Ombudsman Institution in a press release.
