SARAJEVO, June 26 (FENA) - European Union is the only solution for BiH. We need BiH and I hope that dialogue with the European Commission will continue faster and with more motivation, stated Tanja Fajon, member of the European Parliament from Slovenia, who is paying an official visit to Sarajevo today.
She was informed about the situation in FBiH Parliament and said that BiH entered the pre-election campaign too soon, lost precious time and that BiH needs leaders who are ready for cooperation and compromise.
"I will deliver messages I heard today to Brussels. I will continue advocating enlargement of the EU to BiH. There have been some positive moments this year and I hope progress of BiH on the European path will continue," emphasized Fajon.
Fajon met today with Lidija Bradara, Chairperson of the House of Peoples of FBiH Parliament, and Edin Mušić, Chairman of the House of Representatives of FBiH Parliament, which was also attended by Special Representative of the EU to BiH Lars-Gunnar Wigemark.
She said it is unfortunate that deputies of HDZ-HSN Caucus in the House of Representatives of FBiH Parliament will not participate in the thematic session because "we should all discuss the European path together".
"We need leaders ready to compromise today more than ever. I know there are a lot of political emotions today, but on the other hand fast reforms are needed and time cannot be wasted. I wish everyone was at the session today, especially when it comes to discussion on the European path of BiH," emphasized Fajon.
It is necessary to create conditions for investments and open new workplaces and keep young people in the country, said Fajon.
Ambassador Wigemark believes that BiH should continue working on the European integration in the regional context as well, ahead of the Summit in London, and before the Stabilization and Association Council, and that EU is here to help BiH, "not to dictate or impose things".
Chairpersons Mušić and Bradara informed Fajon and Wigemark on situation in FBiH, degree of implementation of the reform agenda and what has not been completed, that there is progress, and that they hope that dialogue and compromise will lead to compromise and relaxed relations.
