Borovac: State is committed to project of closing of collective centers

TUZLA, July 2 (FENA) - Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH Semiha Borovac, Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees of FBiH Edin Ramić and the Mayor of Tuzla Tuzla Jasmin Imamović officially marked beginning of works on construction of social housing in Tuzla today, which is being built within a project "Closing of Collective Centers - CEB II”.

Building will have 66 flats, where persons who are now living in the collective center Mihatovići will be accommodated.

Total value of works is almost four million KM, and deadline for completion of works is 420 days.

Minister Semiha Borovac told FENA they are giving a clear message in Tuzla today, firstly to residents of collective centers, that the state is fully committed to implementation of projects of closing of collective centers in BiH.

She added that works will begin on the 14th building that is being constructed this year, and they visited another building where works have already started.

"These 156 flats will be enough to solve the housing issue of residents of collective center in Mihatovići," said Minister Borovac.

Minister Borovac added she hopes these buildings will be built within the deadline and that this collective center will be solved.

Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees Edin Ramić told FENA that implementation of this project will solve a significant part of problem of collective settlements in area of the Federation of BiH.

He added the aim is to try and close all collective centers in area of the Federation of BiH by 2020.

"Around 2000 families are still in collective centers, which is around 5000 people. Most significant problems are in Tuzla Canton so today we are visiting locations of collective centers here," said Minister Ramić.

Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH, Development Bank of the Council of Europe secured loan funds through CEB II project to close 121 collective centers, where more than 7.200 citizens of BiH live.

Beginning of works or reconstruction of 20 buildings of social housing, 836 flats, is planned this year.
