SREBRENICA/POTOČARI, July 11 (FENA) - Following the funeral service for the 35 victims of the genocide in Srebrenica, led by Raisu-l-ulama of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein effendi Kavazović, the coffins with the remains of the victims were taken from the Musala building to the cemetery in Potočari where the victims will find their eternal peace.

The echoes with names of the victims read during the commemoration spread out through the Memorial Center in Potočari, and their families stand beside the coffins to say final goodbye to their loved ones. They have searched for their remains for years to bury them in a dignified manner.

As it was the case in previous years, unfortunately, many of the families today buried incomplete mortal remains of their loved ones, even just a few bones that have been found and identified so far.

However, for the surviving family members, this is also a kind of relief, because they know where the bones of their loved ones are, while there are still many who still feel pain and sadness because of the fact that, 23 years later, the remains of members of their families have not been found.

To date, 6,610 victims of genocide have been buried in the cemetery of the Memorial Complex in Potočari.
