SARAJEVO, July 15 (FENA) - The recently established online system for registration of foreign nationals in BiH "E-stranac" is already giving good results.
All private and legal entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, who provide accommodation services to foreigners, have a simple and efficient way to register their guests to the Foreigners' Affairs Service.
Apart from this being their legal obligation, the registration of foreign guests to all hotel operators and other providers of these services has been significantly facilitated by the application at www.estranac.ba.
Prior to this, the application system was quite complicated, so it is not surprising that the first reactions of the hotels and foreigners coming to BiH have been very positive.
The former method of application required a lot of time and filling a lot of extensive forms, which in practice proved to be an inadequate solution.
Therefore, a modern online system has been developed that provides significant benefits to all its users.
Thus, all hoteliers, owners of hostels, apartments, weekend houses or other facilities where accommodation services are provided to foreigners in BiH can now easily register with the Foreigners' Affairs Service of BiH, receive their user data (username and password) and from now on, do the registration of their guests from their facilities, online and in real time.
It is especially important that the system allows the use of passport readers. This means that by only scanning travel documents you can fill up all data into the system, which speeds up and facilitates the entire process.
In this way, the process of registration of foreigners has been significantly simplified and fastened, especially in larger accommodation facilities with a great number of guests. At the same time, the material costs are significantly reduced, it also saves time, as a resource that today has a significant value in the overall doing of business.
This modern tool was developed within the project "Support to Efficient Management of Migration and Borders in BiH", which was supported by the Government of Switzerland, and it was implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Security of BiH, the Foreigners' Affairs Service and the Criminal Policy Research Center (CPRC) Sarajevo.
Eldan Mujanovic, project leader from CPRC, emphasized the importance of this tool in terms of increasing the level of security in BiH, and estimated that it will be of great help to the Foreigners' Affairs Service dealing with these issues, but also to all providers of accommodation services.
