BANJA LUKA, July 18 (FENA) - In the period of first six months of 2018, four electric vehicles were imported in Bosnia and Herzegovina, one Volkswagen e-Golf hatchback and three more expensive electric cars, said Ratko Kovačević, Head of the Communications and International Cooperation Department at the Indirect taxation Authority of BiH.
These four e-vehicles, as he added, cost from 26,329 to 54,227 KM, which was the price of the VW e- Golf hatchback.
Kovačević points out that the number of imported electric vehicles in BiH is gradually increasing, although it is not yet a significant number.
If there were greater incentives from the state to reduce import duties for these vehicles, also with the purpose of protecting the environment, this would, of course, result in increased imports of such vehicles.
Kovačević recalls that the state still has the same taxes and custom duties for the import of electric vehicles as those for conventional ones.
Two terminals for charging of electric vehicles have been in operation since May in Banja Luka.
When they were put into operation, the city authorities emphasized that these were the first chargers for electric vehicles installed in any public area in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In 2017, one Tesla Motors S 002, worth 294,153.37 KM, was imported into BiH, and the amount of taxes paid for this vehicle was 67.299,05 KM.
