Migrant families with children currently in Bihać to be relocated to Sedra Hotel

BIHAĆ, July 20 (FENA) - Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton Husein Rošić held today a meeting of the Operational Group for Coordination of Activities and Monitoring of the Migration Crisis in the USC.

The participants agreed on the activities to be realized in order to firstly and primarily relocate children and families with children from the improvised migrant centers in Bihać and Velika Kladuša.

“The International Organization for Migration (IOM) yesterday signed an agreement with the owner of Sedra Hotel where the families with children will be accommodated. According to the IOM announcement, the relocation should begin on Monday,” said Prime Minister Rošić.

Hazim Kapić, Minister of Health and Social Policy of the USC, said that they will firstly prepare rooms for accommodation of families and after that, the medical teams will conduct examination of all future accommodation users.

“As for the potential locations for the controlled migrant center in Medno Polje, in the municipality of Bosanski Petrovac, yesterday the representatives of international organizations and the Ministry of Security of BiH discussed the issue with the municipal mayor Zlatko Hujić.

He said he was against provisional accommodation of migrants in the area of ​​this municipality, even if it is a case of the site that is not that close to all the major settlements. I regret that that there is not enough solidarity among the municipalities, he said.

In the past two years we have been listening about the cooperation of the municipalities and cities in the USC and for the first time that we to need help the Mayor of Bihać, nobody wants to be part of the solution.

In addition to this, no one sees that this problem can tomorrow become a problem of the wider community as well. The government of the Una-Sana Canton primarily wants to solve the problem as soon as possible.

“That is why I once again called all the municipal mayors and town mayors for a meeting on Monday and I will continue to mediate in order to reach an agreement. We need coordination and I will insist on the cooperation of all local communities,” said Prime Minister Rošić.
